Persistence can pay off in weird ways sometimes.  When on a trip in Central Sweden we were driving around on the look for moose on the very last night of our stay.  We had been down the road earlier and found no animals.  On the last night we were a bit frustrated and instead of taking the road back to town as we had done before, we decided to try a different direction a bit further into nowhere.  We wanted to see moose here because a local had told us that this was the best road to spot moose.

The road ended in this small settlement and we had to turn back while we still hadn’t found any moose.  When I turned the car in that settlement, the sun had already gone down and the view we saw was breathtaking.  The color was beautiful and a small rowboat on a dock made the picture complete.

This was the last shot of our trip and the best one I took in Sweden. There isn’t a moose in the picture as I had hoped, but Sweden gave me a beautiful parting gift nonetheless.
