Description

The coast has a very double personality.  In the summer it is the enormously crowded tourist hotspot, in any other season it is the place where you can go to clear your mind and be alone.  Because of this I hate the coast in summer, and love it the rest of the year.

In winter, the coast can give you perspective as it did on this day in February. Being blown around is something you always need to take into account when visiting in winter, fall or spring, but it is on the days storms come rolling in, the coast becomes spectacular.

You can see it coming from miles away and each step it comes closer the smaller and smaller you start to feel. On the horizon, storms can seem like something you are watching on television, but when the waves are getting higher, the bird start behaving more erratically and you feel the wind picking up, the storm gets under your skin.  It is also when most people leave and search for shelter.

The feeling of inevitability of it coming towards you, the rain that seems to hone in on you and finally the rain and thunder that roll over you all leaves you with the feeling that you are small and alone.  Sometimes a man needs to feel this way to keep everything in perspective.
