Can you remember the last time you saw something you had never seen before?  The feeling you feel when you look at something when you have no idea what it is?  It’s a sense that is very scarce nowadays.

On a clear but windy night in Grasslands National Park in Saskatchewan, Canada we saw an orange glow that seemed very related to the orange glow of streetlights we know all too well from home.  However, Grasslands is not only a “light polution free” park, it is also in the middle of nowhere.  So where did this glow come from?  We speculated and watched in amazement as it grew brighter.

When the moon broke over the hills we stood and watched in awe.  A moonrise is not something you see everyday, especially one that rivals most sunrises.

The resulting image is a daily reminder of the fact that we can still be surprised by nature and although we think it, we haven’t actually seen it all yet.
